Kill Bill!

I was five and he was six
We rode on horses made of sticks
He wore black and I wore white
He would always win the fight
Bang bang
He shot me down, bang bang
I hit the ground , bang bang
That awful sound, bang bang
My baby shot me down

Seasons came and changed the time
When I grew up,
I called him mine
He would always laugh and say
Remember when we used to play
Bang bang I shot you down,
bang bang You hit the ground ,
bang bang That awful sound,
bang bang
I used to shoot you down...

Music played and people sang
Just for me the church bells rang
Now he's gone
I don't know why
And till this day some times I cry
He didn't even say goodbye
He didn't take the time to lie
Bang bang He shot me down,
bang bang I hit the ground ,
bang bang
That awful sound,
bang bang My baby shot me down. ..

Workshop 19.10.2010

So this time for the college annual event,i opted for the poetry workshop. The difficult part was that we had to write about our site visit(housing being the theme) in the form of verbal imageries.A difficult task as it was,we were initially asked to write a poem about our sense of belonging or what we would like to call home..this made me write(i'd say literally forced me:P,lol)to write about books,an object with which i could really identify my home!

On the shelves,over the tables
wide open,face down.
From a series of World books to the perpetual collection of Classics
Walls after walls, the varied colours and proportion of books form a mural

Each book with it's own personality,
Each one having a different story to tell,
Each one taking you to different places with different faces.
Each author having his innermost thoughts to share.

The hardbound cover reveals nothing about the essence of the book,
until you turn the pages over, the fragrance determining the meticulousness with which the
book has been used.
The creases formed by repeatedly folding them being a familiar place..
A bookmark being obsoleteand hence kept away.

The many journals that have been penned half way through
Their sudden discovery and intoxicating smell of ink tantalizes you to resume again..

Books are recorded form of memories
The association with each creates the varied fragments of where i belong..

suprematism vs propaganda art

so whats the difference between the artists during the nazi period and kazimir malevich?well for one the german artists of that time popularised something called propaganda art.The works are a must see, why?because they are capable of making one laugh...as they are synonymous with what can be called half truths,or well perfectly concealed lies..The techniques used were by controlling the media, flag waving(An attempt to justify an action on the grounds that doing so will make one more patriotic, or in some way benefit a group, country, or idea)euphemism, creating confusion and appealing to the fear of the general public and basically playing with the psychology of the people!all this was portrayed in the form of art.
suprematism however had no relation whatsoever with nature, humanity, politics, or social message but existed purely for its own being, its form dictated only from the graphic, intellectual exercises of the artist's brain, Malevich is an example of such. The black square for example i found to be very intriguing even though when you see it for the first time, you would find it repulsive. But well became the symbol, the basic element in the system of the art of suprematism, the step into the new art!well i found it interesting since it creates an element of curiosity as to what lies in it..an infinite vastness and one cannot gauge the depth.

My architect

It is a story about a man who tries to get to know his father(louis kahn)through his works over different phases of his life.well, what was interesting to see was that from louis kahn's first work to the national assembly house at Bangladesh, there has been a lot of transformations in terms of sensitivity towards his work.
Though personally however i donot like the concrete structure right in the middle of the sea,it somehow gives me a sense of claustrophobia.I think one of kahn's best work was the salk institute.however the focus of the movie was more about his turbulent personal life (ironically which wasn't his LIFE)!

I believe with different circles or groups of friends, the kind of comfort level you share comes through in the kind of crazy things you decide to do with them.Well below is a fragment of the insane things my friend ritz and I do;P!
we were kind of experimenting with 'new laptop features' n the discoveries were not only fascinating but well simply awesome!:D..so this is something we did a long time back!
